Sunlight Skate is a Learn to Skate and Hockey Academy program through the SFFSC. This 30 minute program is offered during the day. Skaters will work with coaches each week on developing their skating skills as well as balance, posture, and power, to help them become confident on the ice. Additionally, skaters will participate in activities with emphasis on colors, numbers, shapes, and more!

Class Descriptions & Requirements
Sunlight Skate Beginner Class
This class is designed for young and new skaters, typically between the ages of 4 and 7 years old.
Students will focus on forward skating fundamentals.
Backward skating skills will also be introduced and practiced.
Helmets are highly encouraged for skaters 5 years old and younger. Gloves (preferably NOT mittens), long socks, and warm clothing are recommended. Skates will be provided, please show up at least 15 minutes prior to your skater’s ice time as they may have to try on a few different sizes to find the one that fits them best.
Maximum Class Ratio is 10-1
Third Ice Hockey Practice with Net
Sunlight Skate will be offering open practice ice for hockey skaters who want extra time on the ice. Skaters will have a third of the Ice and a net to shoot on. This is a great opportunity for players who want the upper hand!

IMPORTANT MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION
Sunlight skaters are considered members of the Sioux Falls Figure Skating Club, which requires a SFFSC Sunlight Skate Membership. Your membership must be current before we are able to welcome your skater onto the ice.Learn more about all SFFSC memberships and their details/requirements at sffsc.com/membership.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
SFFSC has the right to cancel any session, class, or event that does not reach the required skater minimums prior to the registration deadline. All deadlines are set a minimum of seven days prior to the day of the event. Any invoice created to enroll a skater in a program past the deadline to register will be subject to a $5 invoice fee. Should any session be canceled, you will be notified via email and refunded. Registration & Processing Fees are non-refundable.
